Zig Ziglar was America’s most influential and beloved encourager, and believer that everyone could be, do and have more. He influenced an estimated quarter of a billion individuals through his seminars and his 33 books, including the bestseller See You at the Top, which has sold almost two million copies.
Zig Ziglar’s life and motto can be summed up in this very statement, “You can have everything in life you want, if you just help other people get what they want.”
Here are six steps you can take to help others achieve their goals:
1. PROMOTE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT
To the extent that you are able, help create a positive environment for the person to work on his/her goals. Help remove distractions and other obstacles.
2. OFFER ENCOURAGEMENT
Motivation and perseverance are crucial to achieving difficult goals. You can help boost someone’s motivation by offering encouraging words.
3. CHECK IN ON PROGRESS
One of the most important services you can provide to someone striving for a goal is to provide greater accountability. You can do this by checking in regularly to see if the person is sticking to the plan he/she set.

Are You An Entrepreneur Too?
You may or may not know this about me, but I’ve always
been an entrepreneur at heart. And I’m proud to say I just made an important decision.
If you’re an entrepreneur too, you’ll definitely appreciate this.
4. ADDRESS SETBACKS AND CHALLENGES
If the person striving for a goal has setback, falls behind, or fails to reach a sub-goal on schedule, do what you can to help.
5. PROVIDE REINFORCEMENT
Another great way to help someone stay motivated to is to provide reinforcement for completion of sub-goals. Little rewards can help the person develop positive associations with working toward the goal.
6. CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENTS
One of the best forms of reinforcement is recognition of one’s achievements.\
When the goal-seeker makes a major accomplishment, celebrate! Let him or her know you recognize the importance of what was achieved, and get other people involved.
