Christmas provides a unique opportunity each year for us all to re-focus. Not only are we reminded of the awe-inspiring, world-changing, life-altering gift that is Jesus; but we are also reminded of our need for this Jesus to heal us in our brokenness.
That is indeed why He came, wasn’t it? To bring peace between God and man. This is why the angels declared triumphantly “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:14)
As a new year approaches, I want to challenge us, the church, to impact this world for good! Our country is deeply divided, people are in great need, and more than ever, we need to come alive! We need to be people of prayer, faith, righteousness, and compassion. We need to love God, love each other, and continue to pass our faith to the next generation. Will you commit in 2017 to live more fully for Jesus Christ?
What an exciting year it has been for our family! Tyler married a beautiful bride named
Megan, which added another beautiful daughter to our family. Kristen is in her senior year at the University of Illinois, and had several milestone events with the United States Air Force including a promotion to Staff Sergeant! Debbie and I are also the proud grand-dog-parents of Lily and Duncan!
Every step of the way God has been good!
March of 2017 will complete our 18th year as pastor of Victory Church. I can honestly say the last 18 years has been a privilege, and we are looking forward to years to come. Debbie and I both love you all very much. Your kindness, generosity, and hospitality to us has been a big encouragement. Please continue to pray for us.
This Christmas season, may you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the Magi, and the peace of the Christ Child. God bless you now and forever.
Merry Christmas!
